Philips Speech Processing's third-generation SpeechMike (SpeechMike III) dictation microphone has been recognized by Nuance Communications for its compatibility and superior performance and quality with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 speech recognition software. Nuance Communications, a leading supplier of speech solutions, awarded the SpeechMike III with five dragons – the highest possible accolade for speech recognition compatibility.
SpeechMike III is the latest in the line of stationary audio recording devices and is equipped with noise reduction technology which results in a distinct improvement in accuracy when used with voice recognition systems. This technology makes it well suited for use in busy environments and for authors or transcriptionists who desire crystal-clear sound quality.
This version of the device also has an improved design, reflecting state-of-the-art ergonomics, including a slimmer design than its predecessor, a symmetrical layout for ease-of-use for both right- and left-handed users, and an antimicrobial surface for safe and sanitary handling. The new button layout with bigger dictation function buttons enables simple push-to-dictate operation with minimal thumb movements and a clickable trackball makes mouse functioning easier.
SpeechMike III is available in two versions – push buttons or slide switch to control dictation functions. All designs are also available with a barcode scanner, so information can be read directly from patient or client files and assigned with precision to the relevant file.
